Put a Ring On It - Partho & Prachi Engagement Shoot

For all the single ladies.

Beyonce, once famously, said - "If you liked it, then you shoulda put a ring on it" on her song "Single Ladies". Turns out Partho really does like Prachi, so he did exactly that to Prachi. I never really pictured Partho much as a Beyonce guy, but he's got moves (I've seen them), so you never know.

Engagement shoots are that sweet little moment high prior to the madness of planning and doing a wedding. Picture this: you've just been proposed to by the love of your life & he's put a massive shiny diamond ring on your finger. The love is at an all-time high & all you're feeling is that love. Before you have to think about anything, you'll want to bask in the glow of gratitude & show off that shiny rock to all your friends on Instagram. So what do you do? Go for 2-3 hours with a stranger in a picturesque secluded location whilst you giggle away with your partner.

Luckily for us, Partho & Prachi are no strangers to us - infact Partho is actually our oldest childhood friend - which is why it made it that more special when he reached out to organize a shoot. When it came to brainstorming the vision together, it became apparent that they wanted a wheatfield location with a vintage minimalistic look to it. Lucky for us, we knew just the spot and got to cooking.

Forever..

Our shoot was incredibly seamless. After a quick posing brief, it seemed we were on the same page the entire time. With lots of ground to explore at this location, we found it difficult not to take advantage of the high-rise wheat-field by walking! We covered enough ground that day to walk a marathon, just because their couple dynamic was so fun to watch as a third-party observer.

Posing can often be a difficult topic to cover, but as a whole it's actually not that difficult - as the more comfortable you become with each other, the more natural the faces and the expressions translate in camera. The key is constantly playing a front-seat and back-seat role in finding the subtle balance of micro-adjustments to guide you into the perfect position or that fiery editorial look. Trust is so critical on these types of shoots, because you need to know that your photographer will understand exactly how much to push n' pull in a situation.

You thought this was just going to be a dreamy wheatfields blog post? We're not done just yet. Afterwards, we found this secluded spot adjacent to the fields, which turned into this forest of dying trees. Immediately, alarm bells went off in the hive-mind & we suddenly found ourselves in the middle of this bleak forest with the sun setting. Remember that section on trust earlier? That's where this kicks in. There's something beautiful about finding creative inspiration in the bleakest of places..or something like that

Finally..

Those 3 hours felt like 30 minutes but all good things must come to an end. But not this story. In-fact, Partho & Prachi have their entire lives together to make awesome memories together. Did you peep that giant rock on Prachi's finger? Definitely aren't any single ladies in these photos..
